Help transform Surgical Care in Northeastern Ontario by bringing robotic-assisted surgery and a fixed imaging suite to Health Sciences North.

Today, patients across the Northeast are often forced to travel hundreds, sometimes thousands of kilometres, for procedures considered standard elsewhere in Ontario, despite HSN having the clinical expertise to provide this care locally. This investment will close that gap, expand access to advanced minimally invasive surgery, and strengthen surgical care for the 557,000 people who rely on HSN for specialized care close to home.

Most importantly, it will improve the experience for patients and families — allowing people to receive life-changing treatment closer to the support systems that matter most. Because where you live should never determine the care you receive.

Patient

Mike

Because the robotic-assisted technology he needed for his surgery was unavailable in Sudbury, Mike’s cancer journey began on the 400-series highways.

Chief of Urology

Dr. Yao

Bringing a surgical robot to HSN will transform care and help us recruit and retain top surgical talent to keep world-class treatment right at home.

Matching Donor

The Labelle Family

To inspire the community and accelerate the arrival of robotic-assisted surgery at HSN, Allain and Anita Labelle and family have generously stepped forward to provide a $100,000 matching gift.

Join the Surgical Evolution: your support helps bring provincial-standard care to HSN, keeping patients across Northeastern Ontario close to home.

THANK YOU

Thanks to your generosity, hundreds of patients each year will be able to receive advanced care closer to home, surrounded by the people who matter most.
This investment will also strengthen HSN’s ability to recruit top surgical talent, expand capacity, advance research and education, and build a truly modern surgical program for the future of healthcare in the North.
