Bell’s Support of the Mshkikii Gamik Medicine Lodge

We are incredibly grateful to Bell for their generous contribution toward the Mshkikii Gamik Medicine Lodge at Health Sciences North. This space offers a place of healing and reflection, fostering mental wellness for patients, families, visitors, and staff.

We acknowledge the Indigenous community leaders and partners, both past and present, whose vision, dedication, and advocacy helped create this sacred space. Their efforts have created a space where cultural knowledge and traditional practices are celebrated and shared.

The Medicine Lodge holds the four sacred medicines of sage, sweetgrass, tobacco, and cedar to support prayer, smudging, and ceremonies that facilitate healing, health, and wellness rooted in cultural traditions. Bell’s support allows us to bring in Indigenous Elders and Knowledge Keepers to provide meaningful care for patients and families, while also educating and guiding staff to offer culturally appropriate and compassionate care.

Bell’s support helps us provide compassionate, meaningful care, to the many Indigenous patients and families we serve across this region.
