Lougheed Family Foundation Spreads Joy at Health Sciences North: A Smile-Filled Thank You

Health Sciences North Foundation would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Lougheed Family Foundation for their kind gesture toward the Health
Sciences North staff. They generously donated Smile Cookies and coffee to staff on Thursday, May 1st, 2025, as a way of showing their appreciation for the dedication to
providing excellent patient care to those living in our community and throughout Northeastern Ontario.

“It’s been truly heartwarming to see staff light up as they come to the table for a free coffee and cookie,” said Giulia Carpenter, Manager of Community Engagement and Event Fundraising. “A simple gesture made possible by a generous donor brings real joy to their day. You can see it in their smiles—a small act of kindness goes a long way.”

Recognizing how important the Health Sciences North team is, the Lougheed Family Foundation wanted to lift their spirits with some simple joys: Smile Cookies and warm coffee. It’s a way to bring smiles and a little treat to those who work hard for everyone’s well-being.

“Their generosity shows they’re committed to supporting healthcare in our community and recognizing the amazing efforts of those who contribute,” said Anthony Keating, President and CEO of Health Sciences North Foundation. “Their ongoing support not only lifts the spirits of our hardworking staff but also helps ensure that we can continue providing exceptional care to our patients. Health Sciences North Foundation is proud to be one of the recipients of the funds raised during Tim Hortons Smile Cookie Week in Greater Sudbury. The money raised will go towards supporting healthcare excellence at Health Sciences North. Tim Horton’s Smile Cookie Week runs from April 28 to May 4, 2025.
