Second CARS4KIDZ Event Drives Home Another Successful Fundraiser for NEO Kids!
Posted 28 September 2023 at 12:15pmWith nearly 100 vehicles on display, and an estimated attendance of upwards of 1,000 people, the 2nd CARS4KIDZ event can officially be declared a ‘suped up’ success! The event, proudly presented by Crosstown in support of NEO Kids, ran Saturday, September 9th in Greater Sudbury and raised $25,000 for pediatric medical care in northern Ontario!
“CARS4KIDZ was born out of a passion for cars and fundraising. 2021 marked the first year we held the event, and with this year’s final tally we are happy to report that overall our CARS4KIDZ events in Sudbury have raised over $50,000 to support NEO Kids,” said Kristen Pollesel, Dealer Principal, Crosstown. “Crosstown has always gravitated towards working with charities that give back locally and all the funds raised from CARS4KIDZ go directly to the children and youth in our community to purchase necessary medical equipment and advance patient care in the Northeast. When children are cared for closer to home health outcomes and quality of life improve. It’s a win-win.”
“As family physician, who graduated from NOSM and now lives and works in the Greater Sudbury community, I have always understood the value of NEO Kids, as well as the importance and benefits of keeping kids close to home when they require treatment. I’m also a car enthusiast, and am extremely proud to lend my support and help organize the CARS4KIDZ event,” said Dr. Robbie Pastre. “We are thrilled at the community response to this event, which has once again helped to raise a significant amount of funds to support NEO Kids and all they do to provide pediatric care and services to newborns, children and youth from across the northeast who have a variety of inherited and acquired health conditions.”
“We are deeply grateful for the generosity of Kristen Pollesel, the Crosstown team, and Dr. Robbie Pastre in hosting such a fun and engaging community fundraiser. Thanks to every sponsor, donor and car owner, this event raised such a significant amount of funds,” said Anthony Keating, President & Chief Development Officer at the Foundations at Health Sciences North. “Seeing such a strong turnout from the community at CARS4KIDZ was great. Funds raised will support projects aimed at keeping kids close to home when they need care; that’s what NEO Kids is all about.”
